Acting Workshops with Elena Kuzina

As part of our production run of The Seagull (March 4-27 at The Southern Theatre) , we are thrilled to announce that we will bring Russian acting teacher Elena Kuzina from the State Russian Theatre Academy in St. Petersburg Russia to teach two workshops on Michael Chekhov Technique for Twin Cities actors of all levels.

We are still a little short on funds to bring this important teacher to our city and would love your help to meet our goal. We have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help us raise $1000 to cover the cost.

Details on Ms. Kuzina and the workshops can be found below.

Critics love Rehearsing Failure – dates added!

Due to a warm press reception, and two sold out shows, we’ve added TWO MORE dates to the performance calendar!:

Thursday 2/19 @ 9:30pm
Sunday 2/22 @ 5:30pm

Matthew Everett in the TC Daily Planet, “Even though it’s only about an hour long, the thing is so rich and visual and non-linear and strange and sexy… I am probably the least receptive audience to a theatrical gambit like this, and yet they completely won me over.”

Todd O’Dowd from l’étoile, “this production is filled with some of the most inventive staging I’ve seen in a long time.”

Minnesota Playlist’s Sophie Kerman, “This is an intellectually rich play with none of the academic coolness that you’d expect from a biography. Like its characters – who are playwrights and directors themselves – it is a hot-blooded and sexually-charged play, driven by the urge to create socially relevant art.”

The show runs through February 22nd with twelve total performances now, running in rep with Swandive Theater’s Defying Gravity. Get your tickets today here or by phone (612.326.1811).

More information about the show here, and on our production blog here.
